No Type 2 "Miracle Cure" in Sight"Based on the research and information I have on November 05, the following makes sense to me," Harlan Jacobsen Copyright © 2005 |

The general public somehow believes that diabetics already have their "miracle cure". Insulin did indeed turn the type one diabetic patients life around. Going from diabetes type one diagnosis meant a short life expectancy of months, and insulin extended it to years.
The type one diabetic is a person that has lost their ability to make Insulin. Therefore injected insulin from external sources saves their life. They still have problems balancing all this out and the disease often with still too much glucose, progresses. Most type two diabetes people, (which is a separate disease and likely should have been called something else) manufacture plenty of insulin, often up to four times or more of the normal insulin requirement, Type two people have body cells that have become glucose resistant and as a result the level of glucose often goes out of control beyond even that offset from the increase of insulin the body develops.
The medical treatment issued for this glucose resistance, was in my case, a medication that among other things, cut down my body's carbohydrate
absorption and enhanced the reluctant sugar resisting cells ability to recognize insulin and respond to it.
People on medication forcing your glands to produce extra insulin and all those who take injectable insulin now have to ride close tabs to not only keep your blood sugar from going to high...now you have "life threatening" low blood sugar to deal with and guard against. The more insulin the more likely excess blood sugar will be turned to fat. Still not determined, does this super high amount of insulin trying to force cells to accept glucose do more damage to your body then the too high a glucose level it is trying to fix?. Insulin is basically a fat production hormone. Therefore a patient with excess blood sugar and excess insulin to balance it, usually finds the insulin turning much of the surplus glucose to fat and the insulin patient gains weight. The diabetic likely in part advanced to full fledge diabetic because of all the extra fat that the high blood sugar high insulin combo in operation already had his body turning high glucose into body fat.. My understanding was if I dump 50 pounds, only then would I have a good chance of conquering diabetes. Gain more weight which was a sure thing with the higher insulin production and it would only get worse. Looking at people that I could research it looked like those that bought into this route wound up with their insulin producing glands whipped to an even higher frenzy by these drugs, eventually requires more and more drugs and then one day the gland gives up. No longer producing much. Now the doctor is forced to and puts you on injectable insulin. As time goes on they require larger and larger doses, it seems, is the history and then eventually even that is no longer affective in controlling blood glucose, when one day everything collapses. Bye....... Looking at that I did not see insulin as the great miracle for me but a serious part of the problem. Therefore, when I learned how to get my blood sugar down to reasonable without medication I discontinued all medications (would have anyway after reading other side affects of these medicines) My mistake was going on medication at all; Many doctors are having their patients learn to control blood sugar and keep it down to where ever it is their bodies ability to handle it, right off. Often using limited supplements and controlled and very restricted carbohydrate diets. You might want to research this yourself and then discuss it with your doctor or maybe even check with a second doctor. Realizing that controlling blood sugar, no matter how well you do it, does not stop, arrest or put diabetes on hold. My research over and over says it "no matter what" continues to progress at some rate. That the best you can do if you do everything perfect, is to merely slow its progression. When you control your blood sugar you are doing absolutely nothing to "cure" your diabetes. Your doctor will tell you himself....he is only treating symptoms and you are only slowing its progression. Off of medication, for good, I am trying a zillion different things leaving no stone unturned for my sake. I promise to immediately report to you what and when something works for me to achieve my goal, namely to cure my diabetes.. Writing about it is therapy for me and really helps me to think it out. My life expectancy I figured out was about 12 years. From information I read no matter how good I control it, my diabetes has cut my life expectancy to 6. So I am not only working to control it.( accomplished for now ) I am working to "cure" it by whatever means I can find exists out there. (You will be the first to know) So far I have uncovered something that is available that reverses one aspect of diabetes disability in 3 days (previously thought not reversible by many) and will bring that to you in great detail next issue....
