Fat has been demonized and the "politically correct" view point has been sold so completely it has itself become the primary cause of the obesity epidemic.

No matter how well I explain this, it is likely so far ingrained in your belief system, that you will still feel guilty, or feel that you are some how cheating and your life is not going to work, if you indulge in anything having to do with normal fat consumption.
 


To make life simple with the caveman diet, remember we do not have to keep track of anything or everything, just as long as we understand basically what the caveman's food intake was like and try to simply more or less duplicate it  with what is available to us.


Caveman's Fat Blend Formula


Caveman did not have access to a quantity of fat and It was what he was looking for and ate it every chance he had.


!. Fat was scarce. Wild Animals carry only 3 to 6% fat. Consequently he ate very little Omega 6 fats.

  • Domestic modern man meat sources with no run no fly no swim grain fed animals carry up to 35 to 50% Omega 6 fat.

  • Buffalo (range raised on grass) hamburger, which I buy when in South Dakota is very low fat. Very dry in comparison to juicy fat loaded beef hamburger.

2. Wild Plant sourced fat was plentiful compared to present day, often up to 20 times the Omega 3 plant sources provide today.
  • Plants raised today for food, have been bred and selected for size, taste and appearance.

  • Food value has been of little or no concern in selective breeding of plants to be sold to and used by modern man as food.

  • The apple cave man ate, was not the apple you will eat today off the super market shelf.

3. Caveman eggs abounded and in season he found a variety, they contained 20 times the Omega 3 fat that wire raised confined chickens lay.

  • You can now buy Omega 3 eggs in some stores, about 4 times the usual egg price, but these eggs were laid by free range chickens that have had the usual feed wild birds ate etc.

  • These Omega 3 eggs, give you closer to what cave man ate. 20 times normal off the usual super market shelf egg content.

  • Therefore when you eat an egg, you think you are eating caveman food, and you are, what we are pointing out here is it is difficult to match even at best what caveman ate. Most of your success is going to be on how good a buyer you are, in locating the better matches.

    The only extra work with the caveman diet is it requires a little more shopping initially for good sources.


4. Caveman likely ate a lot more fish (Very Best Omega 3 Fat Source) than we originally thought they did, since it was likely fish were much more plentiful then, and it was easy to get and outsmart a fish. (even a sharp stick will work)

  • Often, caveman may have found a way to access fish in off season (winter) and may have been his primary source of protein. 

  • Many rivers had large fish runs at certain times of the year and it was likely easy to obtain huge quantities and just hang them out to dry, for dried fish available the rest of the year.

  • Those with access to the ocean most certainly had access to seafood even in the winter.
Caveman Likely Went Out Of His Way To Eat As Much Fat As He Could.  It Was His "Ice Cream Treat".

You can eat lots of fat too, if you meet his ratio.  They believe his ratio was One to One Omega 6 fat for every Omega 3 fat.
  • Your ratio has likely been 40 to one.

  • This is because of grain fed meat being high in saturated fat, nearly ten times the saturated fat in wild meat.

  • You eating very little oily fish so you get tiny amounts of Omega 3 fats. Remember farm raised fish do not have the same benefits as wild salmon etc.

  • Plants raised for human consumption today have little or no Omega 3 fats. (except nuts and flaxseed oil. non hydrogenated Coconut oil is saturated but has great value, see other articles.) and avocados are a great source.

  • Experts say, if you achieve a 4 to one ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 you will be doing well.
 

Caveman never ever ate it......

Cut Out All "Transfats" (Define) and Hydrogenated Fats and Oils......... and all man made hydrogenated and/or engineered vegetable oils.

  • Caveman never had it on his diet

  • It is bad for you, see (define).

 
Simple Easy Way To Handle Your Caveman "Fat Diet"
  1. Eat oily fish two or three times a week, sardines are a great source and will work.

  2. Eat Avocados.

  3. Eat wild meat, such as Elk, Buffalo, Emu, Ostrich, Deer, Moose, Pheasant, Duck etc. whenever you can access it.

  4. Avoid saturated high fat meats as much as you can, such as hamburger.

  5. It is saturated fats here taking the big cut when we try to duplicate the Caveman's diet.

  6. Take fish oil supplements, cod liver oil etc. Primrose oil and borage oil are good supplements but not necessary if adequate flaxseed oil etc.

  7. Flaxseed oil, primarily and some Coconut Oil (saturated fat but has great redeeming values) should be worked into your recipes. salads etc.

  8. Eat Avocados.

  9. Avoid hydrogenated oils and fats of any kind, and manmade vegetable oils such as corn oils (example Mazola oil, Crisco, Margarine, etc.

  10. Avoid eating at fast food restaurants and chain restaurants, nearly all of which use large amounts of Transfats (Define) for cooking.
    (it allows them to precook foods at central facility, ship and shelve them without spoiling)


......and now the benefits...

Omega-3 in fish, and fish oil supplements etc is high in two fatty acids, DHA and EPA. that are lacking in the traditional diet and are key to preventing heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and many other "modern man' diseases.

This DHA -and DHA levels are brain food linked to preventing depression, schizophrenia, memory loss, and forms of dementia. These have all been tied to modern man diet fat inadequacies. Too much saturated Omega 6 fat and not enough Omega 3 fats.


Visualize, the model of body you have actually needs and requires and can handle plenty of fat but it must be in stereo.


You have been operating with one side (saturated fat) Omega 6 full volume and Omega 3 fat turned off. What we are explaining "visualize" here is that you need to readjust "balance" to nearly the same.

Lower Omega 6 volume and Increase Omega 3.

 

Your following the caveman diet will not be anywhere near 100% like Caveman himself ate but will still be a huge difference in how your body reacts and many.  Modern man "wrong diet" ailments (in addition to diabetes) that either were or would have happened to you, will now as a result be avoided as an additional benefit.


So you can see this will effect your overall health and life expectancy, it is not just about your diabetes.
