Sure, fruit is good for you, your health and all that. But, you are now a diabetic and you can still eat what caveman ate, which was low sugar fruit.
That is NOT what you are buying in the super market. Super market blue berries, commercially bred up to high sugar, are five times the sugar level of wild blue berries, so if we said it is okay to eat blue berries, it depends on which blue berries you are talking about.
Now, you can eat on a few Super Market blueberries, sprinkled in your high fiber breakfast mix that we advocate. (See Breakfast mix elsewhere)
Between the high fiber and the blue berries (few) it will take a long time (hours) to all digest and the sugar release into your blood stream will be slow and steady.
Adjust to reality, your days of drinking fruit juice are over.
Here on, never drink food again, Water, and lots of it. Do not drink water with meals.. A full glass or two 15 minutes before meals works superbly. Not crucial but good idea to switch to room temp or warmer water.
We highly recommend lemons, see our articles on maintaining non acidic body ph.
Squeeze a bit of lemon into pitchers of water you have standing to lose city chlorine. This helps give you, believe it or not more alkaline body ph.
It is almost impossible for germs or virus to get a hold in your system with neutral or alkaline body balance. (in five years, since on to all this, have had one day of flu, no colds, nothing, never missed a day otherwise.)(this flu happened when I was off lemon in my water for two weeks.) Won't do that again. You can learn to keep a neutral acidic balance other ways, see our articles on that.
Supposedly have a puny immune system since I am over 80.
Cancer patients for example are highly acidic, as our people with most illness. Processed food gives you a more acidic body balance. Example raw tomatoes, alkaline, canned acidic. Another reason to eat as much food raw as you can.
Some studies have shown a half grape fruit before meals lowers your blood sugar 20%.
Not sure about that one but I eat a half pink grape fruit daily. (got a few trees in back yard) Consider it fast sugar so eat a bit off and on with my high fiber breakfast, which also follows a tablespoon of pysillium (Metamucil type stuff, Metamucil is expensive trade name version they have added sugar to) This table spoon before meals studies also show lowers your blood sugar from a meal 20%.
All that is, really is blending a heck of a lot of slow digesting fiber in with your food being digested. (slows processing all way down)
I just do it mornings. Keeps you regular too, along with the high fiber breakfast and steamed veggies.
Eat slow helps blood sugar stay low too, you know.
I eat a little on the half grape fruit every time I go by it and sometimes it takes until noon using the slow formula. Do the same thing with grapes...grab two when snacking ,eat with nuts etc which are slow digesting.
You will get on to eating every two hours and basic formula is never go hungry.
By the way...never eat veggies and fruit at same sitting. They require different enzymes to digest. Confuses things.
Never be up in AM longer than two hours, without eating. Your body wants to get used to the idea you have a steady supply of food and a steady source of food coming in. It should not have to be worried about sending spurts of sugar into your blood stream from your liver to keep you going.
Your automatic regulator will get on to this steady blood sugar supply coming in level and your blood sugar automatic level system will learn to set its regulating on a more sane manner. Learn to be very reliable and steady with your input pattern.
This reassuring your nature ran automatic regulator that you have a steady supply coming in.
This explains why it sometimes takes weeks or months to get your blood sugar levels to settle down.
Tip.....No Peaks... No shortages
By the way... no food after 8pm. Hungry, drink water, goes away Learn to adjust.
This will give you a little back ground on blending in fast sugar foods like fruit and for starters until on to this and learn what works from reading your finger prick test meter.
Eventually, you and your automatic involuntary body sugar regulator get on to this. til then, best avoid fruit all together.
