The Real Cause of Obesity and Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
The
following is a clarification of the discoveries and unusual theory
explaining obesity and diabetes, the author, a layman that has no
medical qualifications whatsoever, thinking outside of the box, here has
drawn up what is "horse sense" to him after researching for
seven months for a cure to his Type 2 Diabetes.

The real
villain in Obesity and Diabetes it appears to me has all along been Hyper "INSULINISM",
something your own body sets up when it puts itself into a "Fat Storage Mode". (which Caveman ancestors did each summer). There are other "High Insulin" turn ons but this is the main culprit.
I will use the Norwegian Caveman as an example of short plentiful food season and long "hard to find food season". Maybe that is where your ancestors came from.
To understand the "Fat Storing Instinct" you inherited think of the Bear gorging on berries all summer so he has accumulated enough fat to carry him over his winter hibernation.
Your caveman ancestor
had the same "put on fat" during the plentiful food season to carry you over the winter scarce food supply season.
This "automatic instinctive" fat storage mode was inherited by you from your caveman ancestors and is now the
villain that is turning on you.
Primarily because you are not using it as nature intended.Your ancestors all had it built in to help them survive the "sparse food available" winter season.
This fat storage mode you inherited has been
programmed to have your body make many times the normal amount of Fat Storing Insulin (hormone) which we are calling "Hyper Insulinism." Insulin either gets the body cells to accept glucose (blood sugar) store it in the liver or swiftly turn it into body fat.
This inherited "Caveman" gene now puts your body into "Fat Storage Mode" by generating Hyper Insulinism when it detects high starch and plentiful sugar. which it interprets as this must be the "plentiful store fat now"
season.
Note: We use the term "Hyper insulinism" because it makes it easier to
understand this article. The correct term for extremely high insulin is
Hyperinsulinemia
This inherited mode later morphs into and becomes the uncontrolled killer of the very person nature set it up to help survive another year.
Fat Storage Mode results in your body going into Over Abundant Hyper Insulin Levels and is what causes what is essentially uncontrollable weight gain and produces Obesity,
Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and other associated maladies.
Prolonged "Hyper Insulinism" is likely what turns on the development of "Insulin Resistance" namely body cells suffering
from prolonged (longer then four months) high insulin exposure start to build a defense. against it). This resistance raises blood sugar, the body further produces and raises Insulin
levels even further to try to make body cells accept normal amounts of sugar. This even higher Insulin level and stored sugar (fat) increases the Obesity and eventually becomes the
basis for Diabetes.
This over produced insulin during plentiful times (summer) of high starch and plant sugar is used to stimulate the liver to convert glucose into fat that is then stored to survive
winter, famine and lean times,
Now, the "modern" wrench in the works, , modern man inputs high starch and sugar year around and once this "Fat Storage Mode" started he has no end to his "plentiful food"
season and of course now days no lean or scarce food season to draw down the fat stores. Thus this Fat Storage Mode now continues for months or even years.
So what meant survival to our ancestors is as a result now making us obese and killing us and/or ruining our lives in general.
Everyone it seems has been treating,. researching and testing the symptoms, but NOT dealing at all with what I see as this
real
cause of the explosive growth of obesity and diabetes
Apparently this is why there is still no ready "cure" for obesity, and/or diabetes. They have all been working on and attacking what appears to me is merely the symptoms,
not the root cause. (Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure etc. all merely symptoms) and manifestations of this Hyper quantities of Insulin your body may have been producing to
store fat for years, (since you never stopped and turned it off like caveman ancestors did automatically each end of season.)
I do not seem to be able to find anyone that appears to be researching or attacking the Hyper Insulinism condition that sets this whole thing in motion.
The Atkins diet comes close when it uses the practically no starches and sugars system that actually turns off the bodys seasonal Fat Storage "Over Abundant Insulin Mode",
stopping it dead.
Prolonged or Severe Stress and Other Factors Can Turn On Hyper Insulinism as well. We all know someone that had a stressful end to a relationship
etc., that almost overnight their body ballooned up 40 pounds. The severe stress apparently turning on Hyper Insulinism.
We will later get into other aspects and turn ons of Hyper Insulinism and how it is the root cause of Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and a host of other maladies.
So far we have been talking about how you get into Hyper Insulinism by the Fat Storing Mode "good season" instinct turned on by HIGH starch and Sugar input (originally from spring plants and vines)
Next we need to understand the self perpetuating vicious circle (downward) that I see we get into from this start that goes on until it "gets us".
Since we do not have a lean season where we stop this "fat storage" process and actually draw the stored fat back down, we continue to have "Hyper Insulinism" for months if not years.
This having your body awash in high insulin for a long time gets your cells developing a defense against all this insulin originally there to store fat. huge quantity of insulin has also been driving cells to accept glucose.
(insulin's other job).
Thus Hyper Insulinism has thereby been generating the "Tough To Fix" problem and the longer Hyper Insulinism goes on, the more complete the "Cell Insulin Resistance" becomes.
HYPER INSULINISM NOW BECOMES SELF PERPETUATING
When your body cells become Insulin Resistant your body has a new problem. Cells ignoring
Insulin's order to accept glucose, these resistant cells as a result winding up going into "starvation mode." This causes the host to be constantly hungry, and despite blood sugar levels now going off the charts, continues to eat all hours.
The high blood sugar now feeds back to the pancreas to turn out even higher insulin to try to force the cells to accept the high blood sugar.
Unfortunately High Insulin levels also increases manufacture of cholesterol and
tryglycerides.
Result:
You can shut down the Fat Storage Mode caused Hyper Insulinism and you still have self perpetuating Hyper Insulinism caused by your body now trying to lower high blood sugar by making three or four times normal Insulin.
This condition caused by cells developing Insulin Resistance from the original over extended Fat Storage Mode now puts you into Hyper Insulinism for the rest of your life..
So now while trying to suppress high blood sugar the extra Insulin is still there and at the same time the super abundance of Insulin causes the making of more fat.
You may have stopped the Fat Storing Mode Hyper Insulinism, but now you have it self perpetuating because of the fight to regulate high blood sugar resulting from your body cells all becoming "Insulin Resistant".
Disease Progresses Despite Blood Sugar "Under Control." This boils down to blood sugar being under control gives you a false sense of security, that all is well with your diabetes and your Doctor has done a great job of saving your hide from the ravages of the "complications" most diabetics experience.
Unless you have gotten your Insulin level down (most doctors do not even check Insulin levels or concern themselves about it.) you are causing your body cells to become more and more "Insulin Resistant". Some cells become so resistant they are starving so much that some will die, Some of these dying cells mean you are killing nerves, some of which are controlling your heart
rhythm and other life or death functions.
This is not caused by high blood sugar, this is from developing Insulin resistance caused by continuing out of control Hyper Levels of Insulin.
What is your doctors solution to the too much "cell insulin resistance" caused by "too much Insulin too long?
Medication of course, for whipping your pancreas into production of even more insulin to make those resistant cells accept sugar whether they want to or not..
Now making eight times the normal insulin level how long do you think your pancreas is going to last?
......and you think everything is going just fine because your "blood sugar numbers are looking
good
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GO TO THE DOCTOR?
He tests me for HIGH BLOOD SUGAR and knows I have probably very HYPER INSULINISM trying to get my now Insulin Resistant body cells to accept the high blood sugar. He has no need to check my Insulin level since he knows the high blood sugar reaction will be for my body to produce huge amounts of insulin, but judging from my blood sugar level is not handling the high blood sugar by itself.
His solution, give me medication to make my pancreas glands to produce even more Insulin, (glyburide) typically eight times normal insulin level instead of the four times I may be currently be producing naturally because of high blood sugar.
This artificially super Hyper Insulinism level does get my blood sugar down to reasonable. It also gets me into hypoglycemia. (Insulin shock from too low blood sugar) 3 different times.
He sends me off to a
dietitian that gives me the low fat low protein diet which by definition is a high carbohydrate diet.
At the same time he tells me to lose 50 pounds. I already knew that to have any chance to get my Diabetes under control I needed to lose 50 pounds.
Wont happen, at this level of Fat Storing Insulin, no matter how tight I manage my diet I am only going to gain weight.
Instead of having a chance to get my Diabetes under control I am only going to gain weight on this medication and "blame my self" for not managing my diet perfectly.
Then, in my case I research and read up on the typical progression of this type of treatment.
In six months to a year my cells are predicted to become even more Insulin Resistant from the continued Hyper Insulinism and now my Doctor typically has to double my medication to get my pancreas glands to produce even higher Hyper Insulinism to try to suppress my blood sugar.
By now I probably will weigh 300 pounds and be very angry with myself and blame myself for the weight gain and "failing to control" my blood sugar and food intake.
Next stage in the typical progression I read is my Insulin producing glands become exhausted from this high rate of forced Insulin production and it tapers off and quits.
Now I get put on and will be on injectable insulin for life which over time will require higher and higher doses.
This story only ends when this whole thing collapses and they box me up.
I refused to go this traditional treatment route.
Here is the usual
pronouncement your Doctor will give you:

When you get home you will forget that he used the word "delay." You will recall instead that the idea was to STOP complications.
You somehow get in your head that you have such a good Doctor, you got there in time and that you are okay, you are not going to have "complications."
FAT STORAGE HYPER INSULINISM MODE THAT STARTS ALL THIS -IS IMBEDDED IN YOUR
GENES
Caveman and 100,000 generations of bodys developed an automatic system that like the Bear during the summer season put on every bit of fat they could in order to make it thru the long winter. Only those that had this built in plant growing season FAT STORAGE MODE survived the "sparse food winters to hand down these genes to you.
Now you have them, and you have to recognize and work with them, to keep these genes action from
inadvertently doing you in.
You can not change your genes.
The connection in your parents having diabetes increases your chances of developing diabetes that you always hear about likely means that you and your parents likely have a more severe manifestation of this 'FAT STORING" gene that sets off your Hyper Insulinism, This leading to more Obesity followed with insulin resistance and the Diabetes that follows.
Every growing season these Caveman found starch rich plants and berries, mushrooms etc and like the Bear, gorged themselves all summer and like the Bear put on quite a few pounds of fat. The sudden starch and sugar rich food of spring set off a Fat Storing Mode of super abundant Insulin, actually a Flood of insulin to cause your body to store fat..
Cavemans body (and the Bears) picked up on the plant based rise in Starches and sugars as a signal to turn on the FAT STORAGE HYPER QUANTITY OF INSULIN MODE.
INSULIN IS ACTUALLY THE BODYS FAT STORAGE HORMONE and over abundant HYPER INSULINISM means that any blood sugar that was not being used at the moment was promptly tucked away as fat.
This super abundant insulin supply apparently absorbs blood sugar and turns it to fat so fast the normal body cells are short changed and the host (caveman and bears) are tremendously hungry and eat constantly trying to appease it.
After an end to the three or four month growing season the starches and sugars disappeared from the Cavemans food intake and the FAT STORAGE MODE ABUNDANT HYPER INSULINISM production was automatically shut down. This end of the season signaled to the body of Caveman and Bears simply by no starch or sugars being eaten.
The summer plants and berries fattened Bear hibernated and went into a low metabolism mode (sleep) and made it thru the winter on just his fat.
Caveman lived off his fat in bad weather and supplemented with animals he could catch during breaks in the weather.
By spring, both the Bear and Caveman were down to no fat remaining on their body.
THIS CARRY OVER CAVEMAN PROGRAMMED INSTINCT YOU INHERITED NOT GETTING TURNED OFF IS LIKELY SET TO CAUSE YOU A LIFE TIME DISASTER .
Here is the zinger.
Obviously you never have had a draw down of fat stores as the Caveman did each winter. Instead you stay in the "Fat Storing Mode" and continue to add fat all year around. (and the super abundant Insulin levels) once started since your body never gets the "plentiful season" is over, turn off the "Fat Storing" message.
This quirk is what makes this instinct turn into a "killer" problem for us instead of a savior as it was developed by the Caveman body.
REVIEW: HOW YOU GOT INTO THIS
You had a binge period of high starch and sugars eaten and/or combined with high stress life situation.
Your inherited genes as a result TURN ON the FAT STORAGE MODE.
In FAT storage mode your body doubles or more your INSULIN, the fat storage hormone that then turns every blood sugar molecule available to FAT since it has been signaled that this is the "good season" of plentiful food.
This super abundant HYPER INSULINISM makes you constantly hungry so you will eat the maximum to make enough fat to get you thru the coming season famine.
You add fat at a rapid rate and no matter what steps you take the weight gain (fat storage continues)
You feel weak and lethargic and burn less glucose then usual adding to the fat gain.
Your good season of high starch and sugar goes on and on making your body cells awash in this continued HYPER
INSULINISM, for a prolonged period of time. Result, body cells develop an INSULIN RESISTANCE in self defense
The NOT seasonally stopping fat storage HYPER INSULINISM then causes body cells developing INSULIN RESISTANCE which then raises your blood sugar levels because cells are no longer readily accepting sugar.
High blood sugar is compensated for by then raising INSULIN production even further to get now insulin resistant cells to accept blood sugar and thereby lower it.
Higher INSULIN means more cell resistance build up and the situation worsens as you get even fatter.
High amount of fat in storage worsens developing INSULIN RESISTANCE, particularly around the waist fat.
Abundantly High or Hyper Insulin Levels affects storing of magnesium which affects other hormones, causes retention of sodium which
causes fluid retention and heart conditions.
New symptoms appear as a result of build up of INSULIN RESISTANCE,
Fatigue, Brain fogginess, inability to focus, sleepy after meals, agitated and moody.
You finally discover you have Diabetes after severe symptoms cause you to
seek medical attention.
Doctors lab determines you have off the chart high blood sugar.
Doctor prescribes medication to cut carb absorption, increase insulin reception and a medication that increases INSULIN production.
Sends you to a dietician for
education on switching to low fat and low protein diet and "healthy" higher carbs.
Doctor tells you to lose weight.
Medication raises Insulin which stores
even more fat making weight loss almost
impossible.
Eventually requires raising Insulin production with more potent medication due to blood sugar rising again.
Eventually over driven pancreas gives
up and stops turning out enough INSULIN.
Doctor then announces you must now go to insulin "injections".
Continued HYPER INSULINISM all along the way means
body cell INSULIN RESISTANCE has increased, likely body fat has increased.
This progresses over time and the Doctor announces your INSULIN SHOT DOSAGE must be further
increased.
We wont go any further
with this, you already know that there will be Diabetes damage along the way, mainly heart and circulatory ailments kill 80% of diabetics. Nerve damage, Kidney and eye
damage are all factors along this downward spiral
HYPER INSULINISM FOR TOO LONG CAUSES BODY CELLS TO BECOME INSULIN RESISTANT.
Read that again........... It is the root cause of Diabetes and the expansion of Obesity.
It likely does not matter whether the "Hyper Insulinism" was caused by a sudden high input of sugars and starches that caused your body to switch over to fat storage deciding this was the "plentiful" food season or some other key turned on the super abundance of Insulinism in your body. (We will take up "other" Hyper Insulinism "turn ons" later)
Here On, We Assume You Did Not End Your Obesity In Time
Whether you know it or not (better check) we assume you have progressed to pre-diabetes or full diabetes.
Remember, I am telling you that Obesity and Diabetes are symptoms of the same "Hyper INSULINISM" disease. The words are almost interchangeable. Obesity = Diabetes, Diabetes = Obesity. They are cut of the same cloth. They go together like bread and butter.
After Four Months Of Super Abundant Insulin, Body Glucose Absorbing Cells Apparently Start To Develop A Resistance To Insulin And Its Cell "Turn On Glucose Absorption"
Abilities.
Each day the cell resistance gets greater and greater, takes an even higher level of Insulin
produced by the pancreas to get these cells to absorb glucose.
The "High Insulin" now is due to the huge requirement for Insulin needed to cause the cells to open up and
receive glucose.
Eventually even with four times the normal production of Insulin, it does not keep up, your blood sugar as a result goes sky high, body parts damage starts
occurring and Diabetes is now in full effect.
This continued over supply of unabsorbed glucose either stays in our blood stream, (worse case) or stored as glycogen by the liver (3500 calories max) and/or balance is converted to body fat, and/or is disposed of in urine. and takes many vitamins and minerals along with it.
At same time as excess glucose is in your blood stream, some of these non-absorbing cells
are starving and some are as a result actually being damaged, particularly those with fine opening blood
supplies.
Controlling your blood sugar level has nothing to do with helping this and does not stop the non glucose absorbing cells that are starving from continue being starved and damaged.
THIS IS WHY WE SAY "SUGAR LEVEL CONTROL" DOES NOT STOP DIABETES DAMAGE PROGRESSION
This is the main reason my articles warn you that your diabetes progresses despite your glucose level and the former high reading peaks are now (finger prick readings) apparently now under your control.
The way I now see it is that you are deceiving yourself with a false sense of security that "my glucose (blood sugar) levels are fine, so I am fine"..
The Diabetes Cure (and completely stopping progression of the disease and its damage) lies only in getting these INSULIN RESISTANT, no longer "glucose absorbing" cells, back to absorbing glucose
normally.
Everything else you or your medical team is doing to affect your diabetes, is from my view point just treating symptoms, and has little to nothing to do with stopping progression and damage. (or ever "curing" your diabetes.)
Take Steps Now, Do Not Delay, Every Day Counts
Still researching this but as I write this, this is what it appears to me should be done right away, without delay.
Remember I am just a writer with no medical qualifications, I am writing to educate, not to give you medical advice. Check with your medical advisor before making any changes.
You have a "stealth disease" that progresses with out your knowing a thing about it. You are leading your normal life, happy as a lark and you do not have a "clue."
Once the damage is underway, there is almost no way to stop it from progressing. When you find out about it, you are already too late. Most of the damage is considered as
"irreversible."
If you have been paying attention as you read this you should have picked up on the idea that your disease is self perpetuating in a downward trend.
The longer your delay, in taking charge of your Diabetes, the more heroic the efforts needed to try to slow it down or stop it.
FIRST I WOULD DO THIS
Stop the super abundant Insulin production caused by the
Fat Storage Mode body turn on. To do this you need to tell your body the "good high availability
food season" is over and it is time to shut down "fat storage". Cutting out most if not all sugar and high starch (carbs) input will do just that.
You will need to get on a low carb diet like Paleo Diet, Atkins, Origin Diet, Protein
power, Neanderthin, any good Caveman Diet.
This will be a major life change for you.
These will all shut down "fat storage mode" and you should lose considerable weight.
The turning point for most getting control of their Diabetes is when they get to a ten percent weight loss. Look at the charts of ideal weight for your height.
That's where you want to go.
Remember, the medical community has poo pooed the Atkins and other low carb diets. All completed competent research studies now confirm Atkins and other low carb diets are far more successful in lowering all factors that need to be lowered then the low fat high carb diets that have been
traditionally recommended.
Then they said, it is all a matter of calories.
If both lowered calories the same the weight loss would be the same. Latest study shows on the same calories the low carb people lost more weight.
With Diabetes it is obvious that carbs are the blood sugar problem. Therefore I will not further argue the low carb case, it should be obvious.
This shutting off the Fat Storage Mode was the first step. Next you must do what ever necessary to get your blood sugar under control
right away. Switching to low carb and/or a good caveman diet will do much to drop your blood sugar in short order. I would say go cold turkey
(the hard way) and go thru the painful withdrawal from all the sweets and foods you have been addicted to.
Hardest for me was suddenly stopping all milk and ice cream. It gets easier after 21 days. That is the time it takes to break a habit.
Remember, no cheating. If you do the 21 days starts over.
You may temporarily require medication and your Doctor will likely start you on Metaformin. (Also called Gougaphage) This has side affects that I decided where something
I did not want to participate in any more, but it does help lose weight. One of the
things it does is it suppresses some of the digestion of carbs. If you don't eat it you do
not need it suppressed. Next and most important it helps overcome some cell Insulin resistance.
When you get to where you can get your blood sugar to reasonable levels by diet and exercise (and supplements) alone as I did you can likely go off it as I did. You may well
not have to go on any medication at all if you get your diet in shape along with daily exercise. (supplements are also a factor, we take up elsewhere.)
NEXT GET YOUR INSULIN LEVEL LOWERED TO NORMAL,
Ask your doctor to run Insulin level tests at the same time you have your A1C tests
done (blood sugar level ) Once you have this figure you can find out if insulin is running HYPER high to control your blood sugar.
If if is, your insulin resistance is only going to get worse. Also as you strive to get your insulin level down you can keep track if you are making progress or not.
AVOID MEDICATIONS THAT INCREASE INSULIN PRODUCTION IF YOU CAN
These put you into hypoglycemic problems (too low blood sugar)
that can put you into a coma and even kill you.
(Insulin shock, happened to me three times at work.)
Main reason to avoid keeping high insulin levels is you are trying to overcome INSULIN RESISTANCE in your cells that got that way because of high insulin. You are never going to get out of Insulin resistance if you
maintain super high insulin levels.
Last reason: they make it almost impossible
to lose weight without severe riding herd on each spoonful you eat.
Insulin is a fat storing hormone and that is just what it will do in such high levels.
You need to get out of this usual downward trap of high insulin=higher Insulin resistance and more body fat, which then =higher blood sugar and =even higher insulin and on and on where everything only gets worse.
Many seem to get caught in this downward spiral on the advice of their medical team,
That makes no sense to me at all, I would suggest lower and control blood sugar with supplements and your diet with eating very low carbs, or none at all, do whatever it takes, this is a life or death issue. Get
exercise daily (at least ten thousand steps,) Buy a pedometer.
You now know the difference and get to chose a route where everything about your diabetes gets only worse with time, or chose a method where your diabetes gets better and better with time, and you even have hope of a cure.
If your Doctor does not go along with this I would consider getting a different Doctor.
DIET SYSTEM YOU CHOSE NOW IS CRUCIAL
Very low carb diet is needed initially to help you figure out how to control your blood sugar and soon your Insulin level as well. The Atkins diet is very well spelled out and managed down to the decimal point. You will need the book and will have most everything spelled out for you. Weight loss is sensational the first few weeks and continues at a lower level over time with the average weight loss at something like 40 pounds.
Atkins diet (and all the Caveman and similar diets will also) will right off stop the "Fat Storage Mode", we have been telling you about. They have a new book out the Atkins Diabetes Revolution which I have read.
Atkins, and all Caveman type diets work well for diabetics, being low carb.
You eat high protein and high fat with practically no refined sugar or milled flour. Carbohydrates are very limited and starts out low in Atkins and is enlarged later with keeping track of precise amounts. This was too complicated for me to keep track of on a daily basis, but ok for most people.
CAVEMAN DIET IS SIMPLE, CURES MODERN MAN DISTORTIONS THAT MAY BE BASIS FOR DIABETES EPIDEMIC
Your body is inherited from cave man and was set up and developed over 100,000 generations.
Agriculture came along and there were about 10,000 generations since then. Only a couple of generations have had to deal with highly processed and refined foods. So you and I are 99% cave man bodys.
This body was never made to handle what we are eating now.
Take my word for it, I have read several books etc on the subject. There are a zillion
theories about which part of the modern man diet and life style change is giving you and
I all this Diabetes disaster.
So I figure, I will go to the Cave man diet, which is basically if cave man did not eat it I do not eat it.
That way my diet fits the body design I am stuck with. No updated bodys available. Fuel it with what it was designed to run on.
Almost all agree diet is the major problem with diabetes. Caveman diet is about 60% fat and protein and carbs all come with very high fiber.
Stopping Hyper Insulinism
We are currently researching what steps you can take that help lower "too high insulin" which we feel is the real cause of Obesity and Diabetes, both merely a symptom caused by Hyper
Insulinism.
There is not much information available on the subject since concentration has been almost solely on what is merely the symptoms, not the disease.
Will write it up when I finish early research on the subject right here.

Personally am working on lowering my own Hyper Insulinism and will report on this site as soon as I have some success (or failure) to report. It is often just as important to find out what does not work as to what does.

These diets are very easy to do, no counting, no keeping track, no hungry periods, Good tasting food. You can find lists on the internet and we will be publishing one too, that is just basically two lists... one, of things you should eat, and a second list of what to not eat any more of.
The books above will handy reference and are of diets you will want to stay on for the rest of your life. They will make a big difference in your overall health and well being.
Interesting side note, Pima Indians in Arizona have one of the highest Diabetes rates in the world. Over 50% of the population. Their diet is very high carb, but before modern man the equal calories came from very high fiber. Now the same calories nearly but are low fiber refined food. Those Pima Indians that went to Mexico and eat a much more closely to their original diet have a much lower incidence of Diabetes.
My goal is to pretty much duplicate what this model of my body ran on in the earlier models.
Very simple system. Eat often and only when hungry. (never go hungry) Eat as much as you want whenever you want.
Takes me very little time to prepare food, grocery bill has gone down nearly 50%,(no prepared or processed food) I have rather easily lost 44 pounds in seven months. (continue to lose 2 pounds a week) without really any real effort at all. (just ate natural), Nothing to keep track of, no calculator needed. Did not really work at losing weight,
it just sort of happened as I merrily ate away on the cave man menu. My blood sugar is now at 6.1 (a1c) down from 10.5 and about 110 fasting in finger blood test down from 250 and all with no medication. It is constantly improving.
Attribute this in part to the cave man diet, part to supplements, and a small part to more exercise.
Here are some other side benefits.
Arthritis in one finger used to bother me. now is gone.
Night sweats, (sweat gland nerves must have died) no longer have that.
Wounds used to take months to heal completely, now make it in 3 weeks.
Allergies are 80% gone
Recouped 70% of the feelings in my feet (diabetic neuropathy) Most of that from another cure but continue to improve on their own.
Blurry vision that had started has gone away.
Fatigue rate has changed for the better since cave man diet.
My dentist tells me that on this diet (no more sugar) that I should have no more cavities. I look it up and sure enough, they found that typical caveman had no cavities.
There are several good books of course, (Paleo Diet ) is one of them, and a lot of information on the diet on the internet.

Epilogue
You probably know some one like Uncle Charlie who got heavier and heavier and would eat 3 or 4 doughnuts and 2 or 3 servings of most everything. He tried several diets and lost 10 or 15 pounds but when he quit, in a short time he was back with even more pounds added. He just could not stop eating.
You figured he was addicted to food or just had a lack of "will power".
Eventually he was over 100 pounds overweight, came down with diabetes, and in a few months after that was determined, he died of heart complications. 80% of Diabetics die of heart and circulatory problems
You figured he did it to himself. He had no one else to blame. Such an intelligent person and such a nice guy, you just can not believe he let that happen.
After reading the "Real Cause" article here I hope you understand now that Uncle Charlie was caught up in the FAT trap.
Likely it all started when Charlie went on a little starch and sugar binge and his "Caveman inherited" bodily "fat storage mode" was activated having
received these clues that this was the "ample food season," His body instinctively tried to store as much fat as it could to carry it over the next winter or other famine, and instinctively raised his fat storing hormone, Insulin to several
times the usual level.
When Insulin goes up it suppresses blood sugar. (hypoglycemia) Sometimes so low you can go
unconscious. You are literally driven to eat by this hunger just to stay alive. Only a small amount of what Charlie ate raised his blood sugar. Most was converted by the huge amount of insulin directly into fat.
So Uncle Charlie, no matter how hard he
tried not to, ate everything in sight.
Understand Charlie was caught up and left powerless by "instinctive" Fat Trap number one.
Cavemen then used this instinctive stored fat to get thru the winter or some other famine of "hard to find food."
Charlie never had the "hard to find food season" so he just kept on the "instinctive store fat when it is plentiful season" and his high insulin never got shut down.
After a year or two of this very high insulin fat store mode
Charles body cells developed a resistance to this prolonged flood of Insulin.
This refusal to accept insulin meant his cells were not absorbing blood sugar normally so his body raises the Insulin level even more to make them accept
sugar. (Insulin's other job)
While more fat is being made some of his cells are
because of Insulin resistance "starved" for sugar despite high blood sugar. Charlie now experiences extreme hunger and eats everything he can, particularly sweets. Charlie was now in to instinctive "Fat Trap" number two.
Then Charlie is diagnosed with Diabetes. This notes high blood sugar is doing serious body damage, The Doctor prescribes a medication that makes the pancreas further raise Insulin to suppress the high blood sugar.
Charlie remains and is now locked in Fat Trap 2,
Charlie is told he has to lose weight. With this high Insulin he just can not.
............... It kills Uncle Charlie.
Charlie did not know he could have stopped "Fat Trap" number one simply by making an abrupt change in his diet, to shut down the instinctive "Fat Storage Mode his body was caught in.
Hopefully you have read this in time so you know.
We can truly say if you do nothing you have no one but yourself to blame.
Here Is What I Am Doing Now
Waiting for comments from the experts and layman alike on my "Real
Cause of Obesity and Diabetes Theory". What is wrong with it and is
there anything to prove it incorrect? Studies etc.
Betting that
Insulin Resistance by your body cells (what makes diabetes type 2) is
caused by long periods of extremely high Insulin levels in your blood
stream.
Therefore: my simple logic is that if your cells are drowning in insulin
and develop a resistance (very understandable reason) in self defense,
then the traditional treatment of adding even more insulin to control your
blood sugar, only makes it worse and makes it impossible for you to ever
cure your insulin resistance (diabetes).
Therefore I am looking for an insulin meter so that I can monitor my
insulin level (in addition to my monitoring my glucose levels) and
somehow learn whatever it takes to get my insulin level down to near
normal so my body cells get relief and have a chance to drop their
insulin resistance. Maybe this is impossible, maybe not...Check with
me later.
This also means:< I am
desperately looking for anything and everything to lower my blood sugar
even further so that my body needs to make very little insulin to cover
it. The real villain here I am betting the farm on is "Hyper
Insulinism."
To fix that the only hope I see is lower your own insulin level
somehow. If you really work at it and succeed even to a degree, perhaps
your body cells insulin resistance would have some time to recoup and get
back to normal and then soon you could have normal insulin action. At the
very least you will have at least halted the advancing cell insulin
resistance (progression of your disease) which is what is going to do you
in, blood sugar levels lowered and controlled or not.
Medical community seems to not care a wimp about yours and my high
insulin.
They seem locked into their standardized protocol "control your
blood sugar" make yourself comfortable and waiting for the normal progression of the
disease and the inevitable result.
