You see the reference to information that if you are fat you will become diabetic and if you are diabetic you will become fat.
To dispell this and to understand how your, body fat and diabetes fit together look at and understand this rather simplified distorted explanation. We wont go into here how you put on fat, but basically it is because you have so high blood sugar (from diet over the years) your body has to make high insulin to keep from drowning in it.. Keep in mind Insulins number one job is acting as a fat forming hormone. Result is that as high sugar peaks your body was never made for, has over the years built higher and higher insulin resistance resulting in higher insulin each year..eventually you automatically start making fat because your body has to make such high insulin because of accumulating insulin resistance...
Enough of that.... Understand the muscle sugar dump..... You body had, over the years forced the extra sugar to be absorbed and stored in muscles by making larger and large amounts of insulin....
What happens when your muscle dump...(place for the old body to dump this excess sugar temporarily) diminishes? No place to put it....it, as a result, goes sky high.... Huge insulin amounts needed to control it...and eventually that wont even cover it.
Now understand this yo yo up and down weight gain.... and how this rushes you to diabetes... Lets say to make this understandable, you weigh 200 pounds...(that was my figure in my personal weight history).... I gain 50 pounds of fat...now weigh 250...for simple understanding lets say i am 200 pounds muscle...50 pounds fat... over distorted simplification, but illustrates.... UNDERSTAND...your body has inherited that FAT is essential for your body to have some fat available to use processing food to get thru the famine... because during a famine, the food supply usually contains "no fat", fat that is absolutely essential for your body to process what food is available. We as standard issue body system, made use of a body survival system to automatically hang on to fat when there is a sign of a coming fat famine eminent, to get us thru the famine... Traditionally man only put on fat over the summer during high sugar season (fruit) to help get thru winter...so everything went to fat and NO FAT WAS BURNED during the high sugar time.
Now we have high sugar all the time... We will find some diet (plus chemical pills etc) to starve ourselves to lose weight.... Absolutely punish and starve our selves, primarily of fat to Lose the 50 pounds... our doctor tells us we need to lose.
Here is what you have to understand....You force yourself to lose 50 pounds... by starving yourself of fat etc... Your body does not give up an ounce of the fat it is saving to get you thru the famine... (muscle wont get you thru,) during a famine there is no fat (all animals, plants etc are almost fat free) and you have to have it go with what food intake there is or you would not survive famine. Thin people can eat lots of routine food during famine but will die over the winter for example, because of no fat available that is essential...(you can not manufacture it) you must bring some with you to survive...
Now you understand only your ancestor relatives that clung to fat from the high sugar season survived... (usually the winter season) and were there in the spring to have children, and you have therefore inherited the same programming... So when you starve now and lose 50 pounds... you LOSE 50 Pounds of muscle. The result is now you have available, instead of 200 pounds of muscle dump for sugar and 50 pounds of fat... You are now at 150 pounds of muscle and 50 pounds of fat. Your muscle sugar dump for high sugar has shrunk.....by 25%..... You are headed for diabetes....if you continue high sugar input or resume.....your usual high sugar and flour diet. Now lets say you are starved...absolutely can not continue this forced fat starvation diet you used .(sent message to body there was already a fat famine. hold on to every bit of fat..) so, as usual, you can not maintain this "forced starvation", and go off whatever diet it is, and you start overeating again...or eating normal again and you think you are putting back on muscle...
Without extensive exercise...you ARE (without an extensive exercise program, ) NOT...regaining a bit of lost muscle. Your sugar levels (and tremendously high insulin ) are running excessively high since you have a 25% reduction in sugar absorption ability by your available muscle sugar dump... You put back on 50 pounds, using the yo yo diet we call it... ( up and down weight as you go off an on various fad diets. etc)
Now you have 100 pounds of body fat, and still the 150 pounds of muscle sugar dump. Doctor says you absolutley have to lose that 50 pounds again....to survive... So you starve and go on these super pills and go thru real pain and eventually you lose the 50 pounds again...
You actually again, lose no fat, you lose 50 pounds of muscle again
(remaining muscle, you never regained any remember) by starving yourself
of fat... because your body is convinced the only way you can survive is
to keep every bit of fat you have....judging from the current fat famine
you are going to need every bit.
Now you have 100 pounds of muscle to act as a sugar dump and 100 pounds of fat.... You think you are doing wonderful....you think you have regained your health and weight... You just shot yourself in the foot...... You are now automatically a diabetic... if you are eating your usual high sugar flour diet. You have less then half of the muscle sugar dump....(place for your body to store or dump high blood sugar peaks) and you are running huge insulin amounts trying to get the cells to absorb enough sugar to keep from drowning in it...
The high insulin starts doing untold damage and you start developing
Diabetes symptoms....tingling in your hands and feet....etc we will not
go into them here...you know what they are.
You start doing serious body damage and eventually you say... how did i get this dam diabetes anyway....? This is admittedly an over simplification but should allow you to understand...once you get caught in the excess sugar in your blood from diet for a length of time and wind up with excess sugar deposited as fat cells you get into this yo yo up and down weight that kills your muscle cell percentage and leads to big accelerating trouble.... Do you understand that the low fat diet tells your body to hang on to every bit of fat stored....that there is a fat famine developing it has to protect you from by saving up every bit of fat. Every time you think and are told you are losing fat...YOU ARE NOT......Without an extensive exercise program......
You are losing MUSCLE. This is what has been going on for years up and down with every diet and you, like all the others, have bought into all the hype and tried desperately but unbeknown have set themselves up now as an automatic diabetic. Their muscle sugar dump is essentially gone. The only solution....... Get out of this trap.... Eat several times a day...mostly early..high proteins and fat etc..very little after 6 pm...high fat. eat all you want, no sugar or flour... no starvation....eat what your ancestors ate...
Your body survival system...soon notices,Hey, the famine is over...seeing a lot of fat and food coming in here every day....the body system says, "lets go back to burning fat like we were designed to do"... Your body relearns to "RUN ON FAT" like your body was designed for... It happened almost immediately once you cut out sugar flour and all high glycemic..foods ......................(foods that turn to high blood sugar quickly.) You will now as a result, not feel this agony of survival "low sugar" hunger pains... Your body will know you are no longer starving for sugar to run on cause you now correctly have switched from a sugar operating system, you have your body now retrained and regained on how to run on fat and has now gotten back to run on fat like your body was designed for. Sugar was only available to your ancestors in slow digested amounts in small quantity, not the huge amounts of sugar dumped suddenly into your blood stream with the modern man diet. Your body as designed, used sugar as a fast conversion energy source during emergency, run from the bear, etc. Result, of your correction, you now eat lots of real whole healthy type fat, (no trans fat etc) your body runs on it, you do not have sugar highs and lows and you will automatically with no special effort, over a period of less then a year of never going hungry, return to the body weight you were designed for. We hope this over simplification, helps you understand the obesity epidemic, the diabetes epidemic and how the "politically correct", cut out fat phobia, and the yo yo dieting, is actually the root of and is causing the very problem (or has caused permanently diabetes etc ) you are trying to correct.
